These distinctive trailing succulents are known for their long, slender stems covered with fleshy leaves. Depending on the variety, the leaves may be almost perfectly round like tiny pearls or more elongated and shaped like small drops or tears.

Their dramatic cascading growth makes them an excellent choice for hanging baskets, shelves, and elevated planters.

Light:

Prefers very bright, indirect light with some gentle direct sunlight. Good light encourages fuller growth and helps maintain densely covered stems. Avoid sudden exposure to intense direct sun.

Water:
Allow the soil to dry almost completely between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. The fleshy leaves store water, making these plants particularly sensitive to overwatering.

Prefers normal to low household humidity with good air circulation. High humidity is not necessary.

Good to know:

String of Pearls has rounded, pearl-like leaves, while String of Tears generally develops more elongated, teardrop-shaped leaves. Their trailing stems can become impressively long as the plants mature.
