Podocarpus Maki is an elegant plant with fine, dense, deep-green foliage. Its long, narrow leaves create a refined appearance reminiscent of a small conifer. Its naturally upright and compact growth makes it an attractive decorative plant that can also be pruned to maintain the desired shape.

As it matures, it develops woody stems and can take on the appearance of a beautifully structured small tree.

Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light and can also benefit from a few hours of gentle sunlight. Good light encourages dense, vigorous growth. Avoid suddenly exposing a plant accustomed to lower light to intense direct sun.

Water:
Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Avoid both overwatering and prolonged periods of drought.

Appreciates moderate humidity but generally adapts well to normal household conditions.

Despite its conifer-like appearance, Podocarpus is commonly grown as an ornamental tropical or subtropical plant. It responds very well to pruning and can be shaped as a shrub, small tree, or even trained as a bonsai.
