The Phalaenopsis Orchid, also known as the Moth Orchid, is one of the most popular orchids thanks to its elegant flowers and relatively easy care. Its long flower spikes produce beautiful blooms that can last several weeks and sometimes several months under the right conditions.

Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid intense direct sunlight, particularly in the afternoon, as it can scorch the leaves.

Water:
Water when the growing medium is nearly dry and the visible roots become more silvery-grey rather than green. Water thoroughly and allow the plant to drain completely. Never allow the orchid to sit in water, and avoid leaving water in the crown between the leaves.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity with good air circulation. It generally adapts well to normal household or office conditions.

Good to know:

After flowering, don’t throw your orchid away: Phalaenopsis orchids can bloom again. Once the flowers have fallen, a healthy plant can eventually produce another flower spike. Aerial roots growing outside the pot are also completely normal and should not be cut simply because they are exposed.
