Oxalis Iron Cross is a distinctive and colorful plant recognized for its four-part green leaves featuring a deep burgundy to purple marking at the center. These markings create a characteristic cross in the middle of each leaf, giving the plant its name “Iron Cross.”

Its decorative foliage is complemented by delicate pink to rosy-red flowers that rise above the leaves, adding an extra touch of color.

Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Some gentle morning or late-afternoon sun can encourage compact growth and flowering. Avoid intense direct sunlight.

Water:

Water when the surface of the soil begins to dry. Keep the growing medium slightly moist during active growth, but never constantly waterlogged. Reduce watering if the plant enters dormancy.

Normal to moderate humidity is suitable. Oxalis generally adapts well to typical indoor home or office conditions.

Good to know:

Unlike many Oxalis that have three leaflets, Iron Cross naturally develops leaves with four leaflets, giving it its distinctive four-leaf-clover appearance. Like many Oxalis, it can also enter dormancy and lose its foliage. The bulbs remain alive underground and can produce fresh new growth after their resting period.
