The Hypocyrta, now primarily classified within the genus Nematanthus, is an attractive trailing tropical plant known for its thick, glossy foliage and unusual little flowers resembling goldfish, giving it its popular name, Goldfish Plant. Our assorted selection may include Black Gold, Mini Green, and other Goldfish varieties depending on availability.

Light:

Thrives in bright, indirect light. Excellent lighting encourages dense growth and especially more abundant flowering. Some gentle morning or late-afternoon sunlight can be beneficial.

Water:
Water when the top few inches of soil begin to dry. Keep the growing medium slightly moist during active growth without allowing it to remain constantly waterlogged. Reduce watering slightly during winter.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity but generally adapts well to normal household conditions.

The name Goldfish Plant comes from its tubular flowers, generally orange, red, or yellow, which resemble tiny swimming goldfish. Good lighting and occasional pruning encourage fuller growth and abundant flowering
