The Maranta Red is a beautiful tropical plant known for its spectacular foliage with striking red veins. Its oval leaves display several shades of green, darker markings, and a lighter central area, all highlighted by vivid red veining. As the plant matures, its growth habit gradually becomes fuller and more trailing.

Light:

Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid intense direct sunlight, which can scorch or fade the foliage.

Water:
Keep the soil slightly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged. Water when the surface begins to dry slightly. Marantas can be sensitive to mineral buildup in water; filtered, rain, or low-mineral water may help prevent brown leaf tips.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity. Good ambient humidity helps maintain lush foliage and reduces crispy or dry leaf edges.

Good to know:

Maranta is commonly called a “Prayer Plant” because of the natural movement of its leaves. They tend to rise upward in the evening and lower again during the day. The Red variety is especially distinguished from Lemon Lime by its bright red veins, while Lemon Lime features predominantly lime-green veining.
