The Hoya carnosa ‘Compacta’ is a unique and highly decorative tropical plant, easily recognized by its thick, waxy, twisted, and curled leaves that grow tightly together along long cascading stems. Its sculptural foliage gradually creates beautiful trailing strands, making it an excellent choice for hanging baskets.

Light:

Thrives in bright, indirect light. Excellent lighting encourages healthy growth and may promote flowering. Some gentle morning or late-afternoon sunlight can be beneficial. 

Water:
Allow a good portion of the soil to dry between waterings. Its thick leaves allow the plant to store some water. Water thoroughly, then allow all excess water to drain completely. Use a well-draining growing medium.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity but generally adapts well to normal household conditions.

Hoya Compacta is a relatively slow-growing variety of Hoya carnosa. Once mature and grown under favorable conditions, it can produce beautiful clusters of waxy, fragrant, star-shaped flowers, typically pale pink with darker centers. Avoid cutting off old flower spurs, as Hoyas can bloom again from the same peduncles.
