The Fittonia, commonly known as the Nerve Plant, is a small tropical plant prized for its beautifully veined foliage. Depending on the variety, its leaves can feature different combinations of green, white, pink, red, or silver, creating highly decorative patterns. Its compact, lush growth makes it an excellent choice for small spaces, terrariums, and tropical arrangements.

Light:

Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Avoid intense direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate foliage. Good lighting helps maintain its vibrant coloration. 

Water:

Keep the soil slightly moist and water when the surface begins to dry. Fittonia does not tolerate prolonged dryness and its foliage may quickly wilt when thirsty. It will often recover rapidly after a thorough watering. 

Especially appreciates high humidity, making it an excellent choice for terrariums. Avoid extremely dry areas or placing it directly beside a heat source.

Good to know:

Fittonia is sometimes nicknamed the “Drama Plant” because its foliage can dramatically wilt when it needs water and perk back up after watering. Its beautiful vein coloration varies considerably depending on the variety.
