Peanut Cactus is a charming small cactus that quickly develops clusters of cylindrical, finger-like stems resembling little peanuts. As it matures, its numerous offsets can begin to cascade slightly over the sides of the pot, creating a dense and impressive specimen.

It is especially prized for its spectacular blooms, which produce surprisingly large, colourful flowers compared with the plant's slender stems.

Light:

Prefers very bright light with several hours of direct sunlight. Excellent light encourages compact growth and improves flowering potential. Gradually acclimate the plant to intense direct sun.

Water:
Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Reduce watering significantly during winter.

Prefers low to normal humidity. Use a very well-draining growing medium and avoid excessive moisture around the roots. 

Good to know:

Peanut Cactus typically flowers in spring or early summer. Classic forms are particularly known for their large orange-red blooms, while some hybrids may produce other colours. A cooler, relatively dry winter rest can help encourage flowering.
