The Arabica Coffee Plant is a beautiful tropical plant with glossy, deep-green, slightly wavy foliage. Its dense and elegant growth makes it an attractive houseplant even when grown purely for its decorative foliage.

When mature and grown under favourable conditions, the coffee plant can produce small fragrant white flowers followed by coffee cherries containing the familiar coffee beans.

Light:

Prefers bright, indirect light. Some gentle morning sun can be beneficial, but avoid intense direct sunlight through a window, which can scorch the foliage.

Water:
Keep the soil lightly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged. Allow the top few centimeters to dry slightly between waterings. Coffee plants generally appreciate somewhat more consistent watering than many other tropical houseplants.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity. Good humidity helps prevent dry or brown leaf edges.

Good to know:

Coffea arabica is the same species responsible for much of the Arabica coffee grown commercially. A mature indoor plant can eventually flower and produce coffee cherries, but this requires favourable growing conditions and several years of maturity. Fruiting indoors is therefore not guaranteed.
